Today I drove 314 miles traveling from Dickinson, North Dakota to Pierre, South Dakota.

The video below is about five minutes long of the world's largest Holstein cow in New Salem, North Dakota.

The video below is about six minutes long from the state capitol & Missouri River in Bismarck, North Dakota.

MY DAILY EMAIL SENT ON JUNE 23, 2018
Hello folks

I hit the road early again today, leaving the hotel in Dickinson, North Dakota at 7:00. I began by driving 67.5 miles east on Interstate 94 to New Salem to say hello to a friend of Dan's.

That is Salem Sue up on the hill. She is the world's largest Holstein cow.

Twenty seven years ago Dan tried to milk her. She remembers him fondly. I didn't attempt anything so personal today.

Below is the view out across central North Dakota from beside Salem Sue.

31.2 more miles down the road brought me to the city of Bismarck. My first stop in North Dakota's capital city was along the Missouri River in Keelboat Park.

I of course had to pay a visit to the state capitol. This is the ninth state capitol I have visited on this trip so far.

Next it was a very boring 203 mile drive south to Pierre, South Dakota. The scenery did not change once the entire drive. During the drive I listened to Bob Uecker announce today's Reds/Brewers game on Sirius XM. The Reds have been playing well lately but unfortunately they lost today. I probably jinxed them. If I hadn't been listening they would have won.

When I got to Pierre I checked into the Holiday Inn Express just across the Missouri River in Fort Pierre. I stood at the front desk for at least twenty minutes before a rude employee finally came out of the office to check me in. Fort Pierre is still in the mountain time zone and Pierre is in the central time zone.

After getting settled in my sub par accomodations I drove around Pierre a little bit. It is not a very attractive town. Only 14,000 people live here. Below is state capitol #10 covered in scaffolding.

The first school in Pierre was a tiny 14x20 building built in 1881.

I'm now deciding where I want to eat dinner. I don't have anything else to share today.
