MY DAILY EMAIL SENT ON JUNE 9, 2018
Howdy,

I left San Francisco this morning and began my five day trek up the Pacific Coast. My first stop was in Bodega. If the building below looks familiar you probably have seen Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds." The building is Potter School and it was used in the movie.

Five miles west of Bodega is Bodega Bay where the movie takes place. Below is the restaurant used in the movie. It doesn't look like it did in 1963 but it is the same place.

I was traveling on California Highway 1 all day. There were many nice views of the California coast.

My next stop was at Goat Rock State Beach.

Located right next to Goat Rock is Arched Rock.

Fort Ross is a former Russian establishment. It was the hub of the southernmost Russian settlements in North America from 1812 to 1842. Me and my scooter took a spin around the fort this morning.

Point Arena Lighthouse is 130 miles north of San Francisco. You can go to the top of the lighthouse but unfortunately I could not climb all those steps. It was my favorite stop of the day.

I drove across the Russian Gulch Bridge as I got close to Fort Bragg where I am spending the night.

My last stop of the day was at Point Cabrillo Lighthouse.

It was a short drive to my hotel from the lighthouse. I am staying at a Holiday Inn Express in Fort Bragg. They upgraded me to a suite.

After getting settled I went out and got my dinner. I went to Jenny's Giant Burger. It's a small local eatery. The place isn't much to look at but the locals love it. Everything is made fresh to order. It may have been the best burger I've ever had.

My journey up the coast will continue tomorrow.
