Hello folks,
Guess who's on the road again? I'm going to try to catch some fall colors. I left home at six o'clock this morning. Today was mostly a driving day but I did make three short stops. The first of which was is Dayton, Ohio shortly after sunrise. I stopped at Woodland Cemetery where you get a nice view of the city.
On my way back to the Interstate I drove through the Oregon District. This is where that awful mass shooting took place back in August.
My next stop was is Columbus where I stopped to take a few pictures of the skyline and the Scioto River.
My next stop was Wheeling, West Virginia, but it took a while to get there. About half way between Columbus and Wheeling there was a really bad accident involving two semi trucks. The accident was on the other side of the road (west bound) but traffic on my side of the road was almost at a dead stop for nearly an hour until I finally got past it.
Interstate 70 west bound was closed for over five hours. Below you can see the traffic backup, it went on for miles.
My final stop of the day was along the Ohio River in downtown Wheeling, West Virginia.
Weather was nice and sunny today but quite cool. When I left home this morning it was only 37 degrees. I drove over 350 miles today. I am spending the night at a Candlewood Suites in St. Clairsville, Ohio. That's just west of Wheeling.
I have a comfortable room which you can examine in the collage beow.
I just finished dinner from the local Applebees.
That was it for today. I'll write more later.
Tim
