I began my trip by flying to Los Angeles, California.

I spent two nights in the Los Angeles area.
Pictured above is a replica of the White House's Oval Office.
I saw this during my visit to the Ronald Reagan
Presidential Library in Simi Valley.

It was a short drive to San Bernardino for my next nights stay.
While here I traversed the scenic "Rim of the world drive" in
the mountains north of the city. I visited Big Bear and
Lake Arrowhead (pictured above) during my drive.

Every trip west has to include at least a couple nights
in Las Vegas. The picture above is looking north up
Las Vegas Blvd toward the Sahara Hotel
and the new Stratosphere Tower.

LAS VEGAS 1996 VIDEO


After my two nights in Vegas it was on to St. George, Utah
for one night. Pictured above is Snow Canyon State Park.

ROAD TO UTAH VIDEO


I began my next day by visiting one of my favorite National
Parks, Zion. After leaving the park I stopped in Kanab, Utah
for a late lunch before ending the day in Page, Arizona.

All of the photos in the above collage were taken during my
two night stay in Page, Arizona. While there I took an
all-day boat tour of Lake Powell and Glen Canyon. The
highlight of the tour was a stop at Rainbow Bridge.

Next it was a scenic drive to Moab, Utah. I passed
through Monument Valley (pictured above) enroute.

One of the most scenic vistas in all of Utah can be
found at Dead Horse Point in a remote area west of Moab.



Also in this area is Canyonlands National Park.

The Colorado River cuts a scenic gorge near Moab.



Pictured above is Four Corners National Monument.
The only place in the U.S. where four states share a border.

I spent one night in Cortez, Colorado.
While here I visited Mesa Verde National Park.

Next I spent two nights in Durango, Colorado.



While here I road on the Durango-Silverton railroad.



Pictured above is Silverton, Colorado. The train stopped
here for a couple hours before heading back to Durango.
I ate lunch at the Bent Elbow while in town.

Next I spent one night in Holbrook, Arizona. I passed
Shiprock, New Mexico (pictured above) enroute.



While in Holbrook I visited The Petrified Forest National
Park. Pictured above is The Painted Desert section.

Next I drove to Phoenix for a one night stay before flying
home. I passed through the scenic Salt River Canyon
(pictured above) on my drive to Pheonix.
