FEBRUARY  1987

Due to fog we were late in leaving Indianapolis so
we missed our connecting flight out of Atlanta.
We got to Miami a few hours late.

We spent the night at the Hyatt Regency in downtown
Miami. The first thing we did the next morning was
visit Parrot Jungle. This popular tourist attraction
presents a large collection of exotic birds in a
subtropical jungle with orchids and other plants.

Our next stop was Vizcaya, an Italian Renaissance-
style villa. Formerly the estate of James Deering,
the 10-acre villa is now a museum featuring 34 rooms
lavishly furnished with European decorative arts.
Extensive formal gardens with pools and fountains
contain sculptures from France and Italy all
overlooking beautiful Biscayne Bay.

It was a beautiful day. We drove around downtown
Miami a bit before leaving town. The Miami
skyline is pictured above.

We headed north on the coast highway.
Infamous Miami Beach is pictured above.

We spent the night at the Hyatt in West Palm Beach.
Pictured above is the Atlantic Ocean as seen
from downtown Palm Beach.

The animals in the collage above were all part of
Lion Country Safari which is west of Palm Beach.
The park contains over 1000 wild animals roaming
free on a 500 acre drive-through preserve.

After our safari we drove northeast to Disney World.
We visited BOK Tower Gardens enroute. Surrounded by
157 acres of carefully landscaped gardens, the marble
and coquina stone tower contains 57 bronze bells.

We stayed at Disney's Contemporary Resort Hotel. The
Monorail stops right inside the atrium of the hotel
making it very easy to access all areas of the park.

The weather wasn't very good for our four days at
Disney World. We got a lot of rain. We spent most
of our time at Epcot. The World Showcase is my
favorite part of the park.

We did spend a little time at the Magic Kingdom.
Pictured above is Cinderella's Castle.

The weather cleared for our last day in Florida,
but it also got quite cold. Pictured above
is beautiful Cypress Gardens.

The last place we visited before flying home was
the Citrus Tower in Clermont, Florida.
