I will spend four nights in Dubai.
I will stay at the Address Downtown Dubai Hotel.


I will ascend to the top of the world's tallest buidling, the 163 story Burj Khalifa.



Friday, April 13, 2012:

I will fly nonstop to Johannesburg, South Africa from Dubai.


I will take a 17-day land tour through South Africa, Botswana, Nambia and Zimbabwe.

I will spend two nights in Johannesburg, South Africa at the Southern Sun Hyde Park.


I'll enjoy a tour of laid-back Pretoria, featuring Church Street, the heart of the city
and the red-sandstone Union buildings and gardens. Next up is a tour showcasing the changes
taking place in the developing area of Soweto. Once known only for its shantytowns, the area
is now home to many successful business people and boasts upscale neighborhoods.
Highlights include the home where Nelson Mandela lived before he was arrested,
and the Hector Pietersen Museum, commemorating the student uprisings of 1976.

I'll fly to Victoria Falls, then motorcoach to Chobe National Park in Botswana.
After checking into the riverside safari lodge I'll embark on a sunset wildlife cruise on the Chobe River.
Monday begins with a boat crossing of the Chobe River to a village in neighboring Namibia, where I'll meet villagers and the chief.
Back in Chobe National Park, an afternoon game drive searches out the park's elephant herds.
I will spend two nights at the Chobe Safari Lodge.



Tuesday, April 17, 2012 - Friday, April 20, 2012:

On Tuesday I'll transfer to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. In the afternoon, I'll enjoy a guided
visit of Victoria Falls National Park, including a walk through the sub-tropical forest.
On Wednesday morning I'll take an unbelievable helicopter flight over Victoria Falls and the mighty Zambezi.
Later in the evening I’ll meet a local family at a home-hosted dinner.
Thursday begins with a “Walk with Lions” excursion to the Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve.
In the afternoon I’ll visit a local school follwed by a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.
Thursday evening I'll enjoy a bush dinner accompanied by African dancing and entertainment.
I'll spend three nights at the Victoria Falls Hotel.



Friday, April 20, 2012 - Monday, April 23, 2012:

Friday I'll fly to Nelspruit via Johannesburg, then motorcoach to Kruger National Park, South Africa's richest wildlife refuge.
On Saturday I'll embark on dawn-to-dusk wildlife viewing including the Skukuza Triangle.
Guides will seek out “The Big Five” — lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos.
Early on Sunday I'll head out on a "feeding-time" game drive followed by a final safari drive later in the day.
I'll spend three nights at the Protea Hotel Kruger Gate.



Monday, April 23, 2012 - Wednesday, April 25, 2012:

On Monday a morning flight brings me to Cape Town, I'll transfer to the village at Spier,
home to picturesque vineyards and world-class wellness centers and spas.
Tuesday provides an opportunity to explore the lovely Winelands region.
In picturesque Stellenbosch, I'll see why the oldest European settlement in the province is called the "City of Oaks."
From Franschoek I'll venture to the fertile Groot Drakenstein valley to taste the vintages at a world-class winery.
I'll spend two nights at the Village at Spier Hotel.



Wednesday, April 25, 2012 - Sunday, April 29, 2012:

On Wednesday a short transfer brings me to Cape Town where I'll embark on a scenic trip to Cape Point with a
visit to the famous Cape Point Ostrich Farm. Afterward, I'll take a funicular to Cape Point, overlooking the
meeting place of the Indian and Atlantic oceans. Next I'll be charmed by delightful African penguins at the
Boulders Beach Penguin Reserve. Later I'll take a helicopter flightseeing tour over Cape Peninsula and Table Mountain.
Thursday I'll explore the stunning wonders of Cape Town, beginning with a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain.


Afterwards, I'll take in the city on a tour that includes the House of Parliament, City Hall, and views of the Castle of Good Hope.
On Friday I'll have the day to myself and in the evening I'll attend the Farewell Dinner.
On Saturday I'll boat to Robben Island, the grim island prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 17 years.
I will be spending four nights at The Cullinan Hotel.



Sunday, April 29, 2012 - Monday, April 30, 2012:

Early Sunday evening I begin the long journey home.
I'll fly from Cape Town to Dubai on a Emirates 777-200.


After a three hour layover in Dubai it's a 13hr 45min flight to New York's JFK on an A380-800.


After an over five hour layover at JFK I'll take a final flight to Indy and the 36 hour journey home will be complete.
