Today I Traveled 378 miles traveling from Deadwood South Dakota to Billings, Montana.

My first stop was Devil's Tower National Monument in Wyoming, 77 miles from Deadwood.
I stopped for brunch in Gillette and then traveled many more miles to my next stop, Little Bighorn.
It was about another hours drive to Billings where I spent the night.

Hello again everyone, I left my hotel in Deadwood, South Dakota at 7:30 this morning. It was a nice cool morning and I had about an hours drive to my first stop, Devil's Tower National Monument. It's located in the northeast corner of Wyoming. This is the place the aliens landed in the movie Close Encounters.  It is a beautiful area and the weather was perfect. I went all the way around the thing snapping photos, but all the photos look about the same. Once you've seen it there's not much else to do.  It was about an hours drive to Gillette, Wyoming from Devil's Tower. I stopped for a very late breakfast at the local Perkin's. I had banana walnut pancakes. They were very good. Below is a picture from the dashboard camera.  After breakfast I got some gas and then got back on I-90 to continue my journey. It was 175 miles until my next stop. Or a little over two hours driving time through beautiful northern Wyoming.  My next stop was Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in Montana. The temperature had risen about 30 degrees since my last stop. It was also very hazy. Not really much to see here but some rolling hills of grass.  My main reason for stopping here was to give me a break from the driving and it was less than a half mile off the freeway. I drove to the end of the park road which is the picture below.  After I finished at Little Bighorn it was about an hours drive to Billings where I am spending the night. I am staying at yet another Holiday Inn Express for the fourth night in a row.
